"I went from working 50-60 hours per week to 40-50 hours per week. That’s more than 10 hours gained each week."

Dan Taylor, Principal PM Manager @ Microsoft

Where he was...

My name is Dan Taylor and I manage a team of 13 Product Managers leading the user experience for Microsoft’s Azure Machine Learning platform. My team’s goal is to significantly improve the user experience of our product and to increase user satisfaction (as measured by NPS). Making a significant improvement at this scale would be a massive accomplishment given the size of the team (500+ engineers), complexity of the product, and the fast-paced world of machine learning.

Before Optimyzed Brain, I was overwhelmed with the demands of a new leadership position that I had taken. I would have a hard time focusing on actionable tasks and would procrastinate by checking Emails, Teams, Social Media, Stocks and News. I was stressed out by working long hours, feeling like I could never catch up to the chaos and was not getting the fulfillment I wanted in life and this manifested itself physically in my body as well.

At first, I tried working super long hours, using almost all of the waking hours I had in the day to try and keep up with the incoming work. Eventually, I realized that it wasn’t sustainable and I needed to find a way to do my job within normal work hours. This is what led me to sign up with Optimyzed Brain’s mental performance optimization bootcamp.

I was initially hesitant about the gains Optimyzed Brain claimed could help me make, and also the cost of the program. However, the founder, Portia Asli, built up credibility by sharing her own credentials, life story, and stories about others who had gone through this program. I also enjoyed our initial consult session, I felt like she understood me and would be able to help me with exactly what I needed at the moment.

Where he is now.

Before Optimyzed Brain’s bootcamp I didn’t have a clearly formed goal for what it is I am trying to accomplish in this new challenging role, and what I am working towards in the next stage of my career. This made it hard for me to prioritize what was most important for the team to focus on and I was initially focused on just keeping things moving on the team, but wasn’t delivering much improvement to the user experience.

After going through the bootcamp I approach my job with a greater sense of purpose. I refocused myself around my mission to deliver great user experiences and that helped me build a stronger passion for my work and team. Now the team is doing more impactful work by proactively finding problems in the user experience and making improvements that delight our users.

Now, I worry less about trying to finish everything and more calmly just focus on the most important tasks each week. The insights from the Optimyzed Brain’s bootcamp helped me to restructure my team in a way that reduced the workload on myself. This was a huge win: I went from working 50-60 hours per week to 40-50 hours per week. That’s more than 10 hours gained each week. Now I have more time to fill my life with fulfilling activities and am almost daily going to the gym, meeting up with a friend, or doing something fun.

Furthermore, before taking the bootcamp I didn’t have a healthy diet or eating routine. I just tried to eat as little as possible so as not to gain weight. Now I have a much more balanced diet, with consistent breakfast/lunch/dinner that supports my health & fitness goals and helps to optimize my brain for clearer thinking. With a few small adjustments, I found that I was able to achieve higher levels of energy, reduced sluggishness and more positivity in my daily work within a couple of weeks!

"Optimyzed Brain is a one-time investment that will pay off over the rest of your career."

-Dan

Mental performance optimization through Optimyzed Brain is different from therapy. Having undertaken both, I describe therapy as more self-directed; you express what you’re struggling with, and the therapist will ask questions to help surface inner thoughts and feelings so that you can process them. Optimyzed Brain is a more structured program directed at helping you form new motivations, habits, and visions for a better future self that will increase your performance. Optimyzed Brain is a one-time investment that will pay off over the rest of your career. If you’re struggling in the chaos of work and not sure what to do, this bootcamp with personal coaching from Portia will give you the actionable tools you need to improve your clarity, performance, health, and mood.

Customer Testimonials. As with any self-growth program, your results may vary from these customer testimonials.  The testimonials used are of actual clients and of the results they personally achieved. They are not intended to represent or guarantee that current or future clients will achieve the same or similar results. Your results will be based on many variables, such as your level of effort, personal qualities, knowledge, skills, and a range of other biological factors. Since these factors differ for each individual, we cannot guarantee your success, or results nor are we responsible for your success or failure. Optimyzed Brain is not an overnight transformation. It takes time, effort, and dedication to optimize your brain and while we - and the customers shown - believe Optimyzed Brain gives you incredible and comprehensive guidance, ultimately, you do have to take action.
